Manifestações cutâneas em pacientes com hepatites virais crônicas : experiência em Mato Grosso

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the existing skin diseases among patients with viral hepatitis, and identify possible cutaneous manifestations of these diseases. The sample was comprised by outpatients with chronic viral hepatitis from the Infectious Diseases department unit of the University Hospital Júlio Muller in Cuiaba, Mato Grosso. 108 patients were enrolled during the period of gathering information (July 2012 to July 2013).These individuals were questioned about skin diseases they had before being diagnosed with viral hepatitis, as well as skin features stemming since the diagnosis. All these patients underwent physical examination, with emphasis on skin manifestations. Also were offered, when necessary, clinical and / or surgical treatment to the patients. 88.9% of the study population had some dermatological manifestation. However most of these manifestations were related to skin senility or sun exposure. Some autoimmune diseases were present, among which we can mention: one case of lichen planus, one case of psoriasis and one had systemic lupus erythematosus with Raynaud's phenomenon, and finally, other developed vitiligo after the initiation of interferon-alpha treatment. To conclude, skin manifestations of chronic viral hepatitis were uncommon in this casuistic.
